An architect is someone who plans, designs, and supervises the construction of a building or structure. The term architecture refers to the provision of services related to the design of buildings and the interior and exterior spaces in and around buildings that humans inhabit or use. The architect is the ultimate supervisor and coordinator of all plans for a building, including architectural and design plans, structural calculations, and facility plans.

An architect, as the creator of living spaces, is responsible for the planning, conceptualization, detailed design, and ongoing supervision of the construction of a building or any other type of structure. The ultimate goal of the architectural profession is to provide a set of specialized services that are directly related to the design and creation of buildings, the organization of their interior spaces, and the design and planning of the surroundings and grounds of these buildings; spaces in which humans live, work, or generally use them.

The architect also plays the role of the final supervisor and the central coordinating body of all technical documents and drawings of a construction project. These drawings cover a wide range: from architectural drawings and conceptual and operational design to technical and computational drawings related to the structure, as well as detailed and complex drawings of mechanical and electrical installations.
